Second Life

I really like the premise of Second Life and I feel like the title fits the website perfectly. I feel as if children were to use this site, it would help them very much with their social skills and be more in touch with their imaginations and other talents that they have. It would give them a sense of another life, completely different from theirs, where they will be able to explore the multifacets of life they never knew imagined. It has helped a variety of people all over and it seems like an effective tool that they can use everyday. Obama should discuss this new website publicly instead of the other more famous website that we already do know about. I believe that if more children knew and use this more than myspace or twitter, their lives might become much more fulfilling.

Obama

This article was crazy to think about. Until I read it, it never occurred to me how it all made sense. Thinking back on it now, I do remember how he did have numerous strategies of getting his face, speeches and so on, almost everywhere. From t-shirts, to bumper stickers and even little figurines made out to look and talk like him. People knew who he was within the short amount of time he was a senator, up until he started to run for President. His campaign was great in publicizing and giving him the exposure he needed. They worked well in targeting small communities to do some of his work for him, such as sending out e-mails and letters informing others to vote, rom the convenience of their own homes. Early on, they knew how to target individuals to vote for him or at least put his name out there. They even used Youtube. Everyone has access to Youtube and even goes on it as a source of entertainment, so of course this was a smart idea to use this website as a driving factor towards their success. Even twitter which is now the newest craze, was used to help them show his short posts daily. Ever since the beginning of his campaign, he new which strategies to use, and he utilized them well. He made technology work for his cause.

WOw!!!!! How crazy was that video! Ever since myspace and facebook came out, which was about the time that I was in high school, it seemed like the coolest new thing. You get to contact people from all over and see the lives of other people you don't even know, and people that you haven't even met yet. These days, it seems like you can talk to people all over with just a couple clicks of your mouse. With all these new technological advances, it is amazing to see how far we've come along, however, I do believe that our lives are now consumed with technology, but forall the wrong reasons. It seems as if we've totally become dependent on computers, cell phones, etc. There are many instances where everyone i'm sure, has come aross someone else in school on the computer for myspace or facebook. With twitter just coming out now, it seems like you can't even brush you teeth without letting someone know about it. Your whole life is documented on the computer and everyone gets access to it. I hope that this is all a fad and once its gone, its gone for good!
